The Amazing Spider-Man 2 star and Paul Giamatti has said that he is fine with not reprising the role of The Rhino.
Before Tom Holland took over the role of the famed web-slinger, Sony had big plans for Spider-Man. At one point, multiple sequels to The Amazing Spider-Man were planned along with a Sinister Six film. Sadly these plans were all canceled or reworked following the mixed critical reception and box-office disappointment of The Amazing Spider-Man 2. This would eventually lead Sony to cut a deal with Disney and Marvel to allow Tom Holland’s version of the character to appear in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Not all of the elements of The Amazing Spider-Man universe have been completely scrapped. For some time it has been rumored that Tom Holland’s upcoming film, Spider-Man: No Way Home, would in some way be a multiverse film. Alfred Molina has already confirmed that he will be returning to the role of Doctor Octopus with Willem Dafoe’s Green Goblin rumored to be the main antagonist of the film. Jamie Fox will also apparently be reprising his role from The Amazing Spider-Man 2 which has begged the question as to what other characters could come back from that universe.
In The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Paul Giamatti portrayed Aleksei Sytsevich who is better known as The Rhino. The character was only featured in the first and final scene of the film but the ending laid the groundwork for him to return for future films. This did not happen and some have wondered if he would also be returning for Spider-Man: No Way Home. While speaking to Comic Book.com, the actor did not confirm or deny that he was involved with the project but seemed okay with not returning to the Rhino role:
“I’m happy. I hadn’t followed any of [these rumors]. Somebody else just asked me about this, so I hadn’t been following. I’m okay with that. I’m certainly okay to just leave it all where it is. It’s fine with me.”

Tom Holland’s Peter Parker was last seen in Marvel’s Spider-Man: Far From Home. Here is the official synopsis for the movie:
