Loki post-credits scene actor DeObia Oparei has shared a behind-the-scenes look at his MCU character.
After a more character-driven episode three, the fourth episode of Loki upped the ante by revealing who the Time Keepers are, throwing twists and turns at fans, while also allowing Loki and Sylvie to go through some much-needed emotional beats. The episode ended with Renslayer pruning the Tom Hiddleston character just as he’s about to profess his admiration for Sylvie. Seemingly dead as the end credits roll, Loki is revealed to be alive, wondering if he’s in Hel as he finds himself in a desolate cityscape. The camera then quickly cuts to three figures never before seen in the MCU standing over him, each more interesting than the last.
Standing over Loki are four variants: Richard E. Grant’s Classic Loki, Jack Veal’s Kid Loki, DeObia Oparei’s Boastful Loki and Alligator Loki. MCU heads online have mostly discussed Grant’s Classic God of Mischief due to his comical and outdated garbs but Oparei’s boastful take on the character is no joke. Details are slim on the MCU character as he doesn’t appear to be lifted from the comic books, but his modified Mjolnir and regal-esque look hints at the character being an amalgam between Thor and Loki.
DeObia Oparei took to Twitter to share a behind-the-scenes look at his boastful character, giving us a better look at his strange costume. The character’s look is definitely inspired by Thor’s suit, from the padded shoulders to the arm braces. Hopefully, the final two episodes give us greater insight into Oparei’s character, perhaps even carving out a special place in the MCU for him.
