The new Star Wars animated series, The Bad Batch has revealed a deeper connection between Fennec Shand and Boba Fett.
Played by Ming-Na Wen, Fennec Shand was originally appeared in the first season of The Mandalorian, seemingly as a one-off character after she was shot in left for dead. Her body was discovered by a man whose face appeared off camera but was not seen for the rest of the season. In season two, it was revealed that the character in question was Boba Fett and who saved her life and now served him. The two eventually joined Din Djarin in his quest to save Grogu from the Empire forces. As it turned out though, the two have a history that predates this.
In the latest episode of Star Wars: The Bad Batch, it was revealed that the character known as Omega was, in fact, another clone of Jango Fett. Like Boba Fett, Omega was an unaltered clone of the bounty hunter and was to be used as a source of DNA for a clone army that could replace Boba Fett. As part of an internal power struggle on Kamino, Fennec Shand was hired to retrieve and protect Omega while another bounty hunter was hired to kill and harvest her. It is currently unknown if this history will have any impact on the upcoming show The Book of Boba Fett.
What do you all make of this revelation? Are you surprised that Boba Fett and Fennec Shand have a deeper connection than what we saw in The Mandalorian? Let us know what you think in the comments below!
