20 Warm-Weather Staples I’ve Added to My Net-a-Porter Wish List This Summer

I may not be the biggest fan of traditional summer dressing, but if you’re looking for a concise edit of summer staples with a tailored edge, allow me to point you in the direction of NET-A-PORTER’s Warm Weather Essentials edit. Trust me on this one. Packed full of clean-lined separates and timeless accessories, the collection is a welcome relief to those of us who don’t usually invest in florals when the mercury rises.

I’m talking colour-pop shirts that can be worn with shorts now and straight-leg jeans come autumn, dramatic shirt dresses in a plethora of neutrals shades, waistcoat co-ords that exude Alexa Chung charm and sandals that will literally go with everything in your wardrobe. Phew. So much goodness, so little time.

To save you time (and because I’m nice like that), I’ve scrolled through the entire edit and picked out 20 pieces that have particularly caught my eye. Each and every one is an item I would happily throw on this weekend then, come October, layer up with knitwear and boots. If that isn’t style versatility, then I don’t know what is. Scroll down to see and shop my edit.

This is the most perfect shade of summer pink.

So into the retro shape of these Valentino sunnies.

You can’t go wrong with a pair of linen-blend shorts.

Introducing my dream designer bag.

The neck tie makes this Jil Sander blouse 10 times cooler.

A great way to try colour if you usually prefer neutrals.

I wear short-sleeve shirts constantly when the mercury rises.

Style these with a colour-match blouse for cool summer style.

The ’90s classic is making a comeback, and I’m not sad about it.

Just add to jeans and a white tee for easy weekend dressing.

Classic, comfortable and versatile, I’m a new convert to the shirt dress.

Add to everything in your summer (and autumn and winter) wardrobe.

These shorts will add a little bit of sunshine into your day.

Tuck this into everything from midi skirts and shorts to jeans and slouchy trousers.

Another designer icon that will never grow old.

I’m 100% invested in 2021’s waistcoat trend.

Complete the look with the matching trousers.

Oh Ganni, you’ve gone and done it again.

A platform is an easy way to add height without a heel.

The buckle on these shorts feels very ’50s pin-up.
