My tolerance for uncomfortable shoes has always been pretty low, but there was something about the adjustment to WFH life and, you know, lockdown that only exacerbated this. Toe-crushing high heels? No thanks. Blister-inducing flats? Nope. If I can’t wear it for a whole day without a second’s thought then it’s not going near my feet. All I can say is thank goodness for Birkenstocks.
I invested in a pair of Arizona EVAs in early 2020, and boy am I glad that I did. I didn’t take those babies off all summer long, and it’s a sign of good sandals that I was able to slip them on for the beach just as easily as I could style them with my smarter city separates. It’s clear that the rest of the fashion world agrees, as over the last few years, Birkenstock sandals have made regular appearances on the feeds of Instagram’s most stylish. The brand has also expanded into more premium lines, which include very chic collabs with brands such as Proenza Schouler and Toogood, and a spin-off line called Birkenstock 1774, which is stocked at MATCHESFASHION.COM. Finally, the world of fashion and comfort are merging, and I could not be happier. Scroll down to see how other influencers are wearing their Birkenstocks, and shop the wide range of styles that are now available, including the £30 pair that I swear by. You can thank me later.

I love the matchy-matchy dress-and-sandals get-up that Thandi champions here.
Proof that Birkenstocks can work for all outfits, including ankle-skimming, printed gowns.
