Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige is involved with Sony Pictures in marketing Spider-Man: No Way Home.
Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures are collaborating together for the third time with the upcoming sequel Spider-Man: No Way Home, which will feature the return of Tom Holland as the titular webhead for his newest standalone outing. After a public outcry over the parting of ways between Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures in 2019, the contract was renewed, leaving Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige as a creative lead for the Sony-owned standalone film.
In a recent interview, Ayad Ayaz, Walt Disney Studios’ marketing president, mentioned that Kevin Feige will be involved in the marketing campaign for No Way Home along with Sony Pictures. Ayaz told The Hollywood Reporter the following:
“Sony is absolutely handling the marketing for Spider-Man. Kevin Feige and his team are closely partnering with the Sony team on those. So there is coordination in that sense. We also make sure we are aware of who is dropping what when. But we are not working together on the campaigns because it’s their film. They are handling it but there is a level of coordination to make sure that it’s a win-win for everybody.”
The original agreement between Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures allowed the webhead to swing alongside the Avengers in team-up movies which Disney owned while the standalone films set in the MCU canon would remain as productions for Sony Pictures.
