The first official look at the forthcoming anime Star Wars: Visions will debut at this year’s Anime Expo Lite.
Anime and Star Wars fans rejoice as the first official look at Lucasfilm’s foray into anime is just right around the corner. Announced last year, Star Wars: Visions is set to be a series of 10 anime short films that will give fans different “visions” into the galaxy far, far away. While Star Wars has long associated itself with animation, this is the first time in the franchise’s nearly fifty-year run that it will be delving into the anime genre.
And just to solidify how much Lucasfilm is committed to this Star Wars and anime crossover, the first look at Visions will debut at the iconic Anime Expo Lite this July. On July 3rd, a 30-minute panel is set to give fans their look at Visions, as well as give some of the creative forces behind the anime an opportunity to discuss it. Details are currently slim on the content of the actual series, though we do know that the short films will be anthologized. It’s currently unknown if existing characters will make an appearance in the series, or if we’ll be treated to brand new ones.

The most recent animated Star Wars series making the rounds is The Bad Batch. Here is the synopsis for The Bad Batch:
The series follows the elite and experimental clones of the Bad Batch (first introduced in The Clone Wars) as they find their way in a rapidly changing galaxy in the immediate aftermath of the Clone War. Members of Bad Batch — a unique squad of clones who vary genetically from their brothers in the Clone Army — each possess a singular exceptional skill, which makes them extraordinarily effective soldiers and a formidable crew. In the post-Clone War era, they will take on daring mercenary missions as they struggle to stay afloat and find new purpose.
The Bad Batch is executive produced by Dave Filoni, Athena Portillo, Brad Rau, and Jennifer Corbett with Carrie Beck as co-executive producer and Josh Rimes as producer. Rau is also serving as supervising director, with Corbett as head writer. Dee Bradley Baker is behind the voices of Clone Force 99.
The Bad Batch hits Disney Plus every Friday. Stay tuned to Heroic Hollywood for all the latest news surrounding Star Wars, and subscribe to our YouTube channel for exclusive video content!
