Jennifer Lawrence has carved a name for herself as one of the most celebrated actresses of her generation, so you could assume she’s hardly short of access to the finest clothes. As a long-time ambassador of Dior, the actress has made Maria Grazia Chiuri’s creations her go-tos in recent years, wearing Dior dresses to many a red carpet appearance. With fancy events and premieres largely on hold for the time being, it is the star’s off-duty looks that have really started to catch my attention.
With a penchant for wearing the world’s buzziest brands—including Bottega Veneta and The Row—Lawrence clearly knows a thing or two about what’s in right now. Although her aesthetic is relatively understated (think classic staples like white T-shirts paired with tailored trousers and tennis sneakers), all of the items she does wear are of the utmost quality and have often been created by the industry’s most coveted labels.
From a floral sundress paired with Dior accessories to Olsen-approved trousers worn alongside a Celine handbag, keep scrolling for four J.Law looks I have loved lately.
Style Notes: Between Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Kendall Jenner and now Lawrence, these trousers by The Row have, undoubtedly, become the It item of the summer. Here, J.Law pairs the trending staple alongside a Celine handbag, Dior sneakers and a trusty plain, white tee.
Style Notes: Once again proving her affinity for Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen’s label, The Row, here, Lawrence carries the brand’s suede tote, wearing it alongside an HVN minidress and white trainers.
Style Notes: In my head, this is the kind of look Lawrence would wear in an alternate universe where she has a 9-to-5 office job. The shirt dress, also by HVN, is incredibly sophisticated, and the brogues add practicality. Of course, as per usual, she’s finished this look with a Dior handbag.
Style Notes: This outfit may seem low-key, but take one look at the Dior monogram on the inside of that bucket hat and you’ll realise looks can be deceiving. Here, Lawrence has updated a casual T-shirt-and-shorts look with the addition of standout accessories, including the aforementioned designer hat, a Dior bag and Mansur Gavriel sandals.
Style Notes: At the 90th annual Academy Awards, Lawrence had jaws on the floor in metallic Dior.
Style Notes: Look to J.Law for lessons on how to give your look a ’70s twist. The actress jazzed up a relatively simple combo of a white tee and leather jacket with flared trousers and platform heels.
Style Notes: Attending a London photocall for her film Red Sparrow, Lawrence wore the outfit we dream of wearing when we see our ex, courtesy of Versace.
Style Notes: The actress gave us Grecian goddess meets ’70s hippie chick in a rainbow Dior dress at the London premiere of Red Sparrow. Into it.
Style Notes: Stepping out in London, Lawrence discovered our next outfit combo to try this spring: embroidered trousers with a slogan tee.
Style Notes: Please see Lawrence providing all the Anne Boleyn vibes at the 2018 BAFTAs via Dior.
Style Notes: We’re really keen on the contrast of pink and black, as seen here on the actress at the Hollywood Reporter Women in Entertainment Breakfast.
Style Notes: J.Law demonstrates a fail-safe evening look we can all copy: a satin blouse with wide-legged, floor-grazing black trousers.
Style Notes: J.Law, once again, proving the eternal power of a white tee, checked blazer and jeans at an event for The Contenders in November 2017.
Style Notes: Lawrence went back to that bohemian aesthetic in a black lace gown complete with a pleated skirt.
Style Notes: …And again as she attended a photocall for her movie Mother! in a printed trouser-and-bralette co-ord situation.
Style Notes: Lawrence enjoyed another princess Dior moment at the New York Mother! premiere.
Style Notes: And a vampy princess look at the Paris premiere in—you guessed it—Dior.
Style Notes: The actress decided on a silver web-effect Versace dress for the London premiere.
Style Notes: Continuing the boho theme for a dog walk in New York, the actress opted for a white maxi dress.
Style Notes: J.Law indulged in some Dolce & Gabbana here and positively aced the whole thing.
Style Notes: Off-shoulder jackets are firmly on our radar after Meghan Markle wore a checked Theory version for a royal appointment in Scotland, but it seems Lawrence was the first, pairing this black blazer version with matching trousers at the Passengers photocall in December 2016.
Style Notes: Another breathtaking Dior moment at the Passengers premiere in Los Angeles. Sensing a theme? She is a brand ambassador and campaign girl, after all.
Style Notes: And just like that, J.Law’s made us want to go and wear a white skirt suit with a black tee.
Style Notes: Lawrence looked gorgeous in black lace courtesy of Sally LaPointe at a special screening of Passengers.
Style Notes: We cannot fault this red-and-black Proenza Schouler dress worn to a Passengers photocall. Top choice.
