Marvel Studios has added Jameela Jamil as Titania to the upcoming She-Hulk series for Disney Plus.
While it has quickly become clear that She-Hulk will have its share of storylines involving Bruce Banner, it’s now clear that the Disney Plus series will give Jennifer Walters her own set of antagonists. According to a new report from The Illuminerdi and confirmed by Comic Book.com, Jameela Jamil will be joining the cast as longtime She-Hulk foe, Titania. The actress is best known for her role in The Good Place but has also had a number of voiceover roles in shows like Duck Tales and Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous.
In the comics, Titania was originally a woman from Denver who was caught up in the 1984 Marvel crossover event, Secret Wars. She was eventually taken by Doctor Doom who gave her superstrength and stamina and used her in his battles against the heroes in the crossover. While her role has not consistently been that of a supervillain, she is perhaps known as one of She-Hulk’s main rivals and antagonists. It is currently unknown how big of a role she will have in the upcoming Disney Plus series.
What do you think of this development? Are you excited to see Titania in the She-Hulk series? Let us know what you think in the comments below!
In the comics, She-Hulk is the alter-ego of Jennifer Walters, a private attorney and the cousin of Bruce Banner. After being shot, Jennifer Walters receives a blood transfusion from Bruce who was the only viable donor. The transfusion had the unintended side effect of transforming her into the gamma-powered She-Hulk. However, unlike most incarnations of Bruce Banner’s Hulk, Jennifer Walters retains her sharp wit and emotional control in her She-Hulk form, which later becomes permanent.
Marvel Studios’ upcoming slate of films includes Black Widow, The Eternals, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, and Thor: Love and Thunder. In addition to the aforementioned feature films and She-Hulk series, Marvel Studios is developing several shows for Disney Plus, including Loki, What If…?, Hawkeye, Ms. Marvel, and Moon Knight.
She-Hulk is currently slated for a 2022 release on Disney Plus. Stay tuned for all the latest news on She-Hulk and be sure to subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for more original video content!
