The Green Lantern show heading to HBO Max has found a director to usher the various Ring-Slingers to the streaming service.
It seems like HBO Max is really pushing ahead with getting work started on the Green Lantern series, as the upcoming show has found its director. The announcement comes shortly after news arrived that Jeremy Irvine is in talks to play Alan Scott, the first Green Lantern from the comics who debuted back in 1940. The series will feature several members of the Corps across various timelines, but it’s not clear if their stories will all converge at some point.
But according to The Hollywood Reporter. Lee Toland Krieger has signed on to direct the first two episodes of Green Lantern for HBO Max. Krieger is best known for directing episodes of Riverdale, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina as well as Superman and Lois. Finn Wittrock was the first actor to join the project with the American Horror Story star set to play Guy Gardner.

In addition to the Green Lantern series, HBO Max is also developing a Strange Adventures DC anthology series, a DC Super Hero High show from Elizabeth Banks, James Gunn’s Peacekeeper spin-off, and Matt Reeves’ Gotham PD series set in the world of The Batman. News of the Green Lantern series arrived shortly after reports of HBO Max planning to produce DC projects with budgets on par with those of feature films.
