Gwen Stacy star Emma Stone has debunked the rumors that she’ll reprise the role in Spider-Man: No Way Home.
Obviously many fans are expecting previous Spider-Man stars Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield to make an appearance via the multiverse in Spider-Man: No Way Home, but there’s been some speculation over returns from Emma Stone’s Gwen Stacy and Kirsten Dunst’s Mary-Jane Watson. But speaking to MTV News ahead Cruella’s release, Stone briefly touched on the reports, debunking the idea completely.
Much like Andrew Garfield’s exuberant denial that he’ll star in Spider-Man: No Way Home, Emma Stone explained that although she’s heard the rumors about her supposed return she isn’t involved. She also joked that because she’s an alumnus of the franchise, she’s not sure what she is is and isn’t allowed to say about future films. Take a look below.
“I have heard those rumors. I don’t know if I’m supposed to say anything, but I’m not [involved]. I’m not. I don’t know what you’re supposed to respond as an alumnus “
