There have been a lot of bills introduced for the regulation of Louisiana sports betting. Now, estimates are that the activity could be launched as early as this fall, perhaps in time for the NFL season. Senators in Louisiana recently voted 31-6 on a bill to allow sports bets to be placed on smartphones, in casinos, at approved kiosks, and even in restaurants that serve liquor. The bill must now go before the Louisiana House. A survey last year found that 65% of state residence approve of the regulation of sports wagers.
