Elizabeth Olsen recently teased an exciting WandaVision connection in Sam Raimi’s Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
Scarlet Witch is now a major player in the Marvel Cinematic Universe after being fleshed out in WandaVision. We also know Elizabeth Olsen will turn up in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness next, presumably in her new comic book accurate costume.
Despite her finally getting the spotlight in WandaVision, it’s still been quite the journey for Elizabeth Olsen in the role ever since she first appeared in Avengers: Age of Ultron. While speaking to the Spanish publication Explica, Olsen reflected on her growth in the Marvel role:
“I have spent the last 7 years playing this character, and she has changed and grown with me. But it wasn’t until WandaVision, and now Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, that I felt a sense of ownership and creative license with her. At first I was terrified. It was overwhelming to translate this character into a sitcom, and also in the wake of several decades of this type of format, and then return to the reality of Marvel. But I loved the story and I loved the journey that we took the audience on.”
It’s been said that audiences will not have to watch WandaVision to follow the Doctor Strange sequel, but Elizabeth Olsen did tease something in the film that will connect to the Disney Plus series:
“Every Marvel movie is unique and this one is sure to surprise fans. I can’t wait to see your reaction, especially when it comes to the WandaVision part.”
