DC announced an animated film based on the Injustice video games will be their next animated project after Batman: The Long Halloween.
Earlier on Wednesday, it was revealed new Batman and Superman animated shows are coming, but that wasn’t all the exciting DC news for the day. Many fans of the Injustice games have been hoping for a sequel, but on Wednesday, DC also shared an animated film based on the popular video game series is on the way. No other details were revealed other than the film being next up on their animation slate after Batman: The Long Halloween, Part Two, with a sneak peek at Injustice included on its home release.
The Injustice video game series were developed by Mortal Kombat‘s NetherRealm Studios and pitted the heroes and villains of the DC universe against each other with the ultimate showdowns. The first game arrived in 2013, while its sequel hit in 2017. The first video game also featured a well-known prequel comic book series written by Tom Taylor, which notably saw Superman kill Joker.
