The Falcon and the Winter Soldier star Anthony Mackie humorously called out Tom Holland’s Spider-Man during his acceptance speech at the MTV 2021 Movie Awards.
The 2021 MTV Movie Awards were a star-studded event, where some of our favorite heroes and villains were gifted beautiful golden buckets of popcorn for their contributions to cinema. Sure, they’re not the Oscars, but the MTV Movie Awards have always been self-aware and fun and this year was no different. The MCU made it out like bandits, with WandaVision walking out with four whopping awards, and Anthony Mackie’s Falcon and the Winter Soldier gaining two golden buckets. And when it came time to accept his award for Best Hero, Mackie had some choice words to say for Tom Holland, his self-proclaimed rival.
Taking the stage to accept the award, Anthony Mackie insisted fans to “be safe”. After this positive message, he quickly shifted gears and called out Spider-Man actor Tom Holland, saying “I’m on your ass”. Mackie and Holland have always maintained a fun, showman-like on-screen rivalry ever since Spider-Man joined the MCU in Captain America: Civil War. Holland hasn’t posted a retort yet, but you can check out Captain America trolling the Spider-Man actor below.
