Harley Quinn star Margot Robbie won’t rule out the idea of a sequel to her 2020 film, Birds of Prey.
The DC Extended Universe may be something of an uncertain mess but Margot Robbie’s future as Harley Quinn seems assured for the time being. After making her debut as the character in the 2016 film Suicide Squad, the actress reprised the role for the 2020 film, Birds of Prey. While the film didn’t earn as much money as was expected it did manage to earn well over $200M worldwide on an $84M budget and was well received by critics. Margot Robbie will be returning to the role for James Gunn’s upcoming film, The Suicide Squad but the actress isn’t ruling out a follow-up to her previous movie.
While speaking to Den of Geek the actress talked briefly talked about the potential for a Birds of Prey follow-up. While Margot Robbie did not flat out shoot down the idea of a sequel she did confirm that it was not currently in development:
“I don’t know if that is on the horizon anytime soon. I don’t think it’s a no. But no, there’s no sequel in the works that I’m aware of at this stage.”
