Sam Wilson actor Anthony Mackie wants New Orleans to hold a Captain America parade to celebrate the hero.
He’s only officially been Captain America for a little while, but Anthony Mackie wants a huge celebration now that Sam Wilson has finally taken up the mantle left by Steve Rogers in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. After the events of The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, Mackie will also get his own solo movie as the patriotic hero, with Captain America 4 in the works at Marvel Studios.
But when speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Nick Romano explained that Sam Wilson stepping up to the Captain America mantle was timed nicely with the two year anniversary of Avengers: Endgame‘s release where Steve originally passed on the shield. Anthony Mackie revealed that because of that, he’d love for New Orleans to throw a huge celebratory Captain America parade.
“In New Orleans, we have like a parade for everything. I want a parade. I want a Captain America parade with beads and charbroiled oysters. I want a celebration.”
