Ewan McGregor has teased a “special scene” that he filmed with someone on May 4th for this upcoming Obi-Wan Kenobi series on Disney Plus.
Disney Plus is set to produce dozens of live-action television dramas in the next couple of years and perhaps the most anticipated of them all is Ewan McGregor’s Obi-Wan Kenobi series. Set 10 years after Revenge of the Sith, the limited series will see McGregor’s space wizard watching over Luke Skywalker on Tatooine. The series is also set to star Hayden Christensen as Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader, so it wouldn’t be surprising in the least if both former best buds duked it out at one point. And whole Christensen is a very special actor to be acting alongside, there’s someone else on the set of the show that we don’t know of – at least for now.
In a recent interview with Jimmy Kimmel on his late-night talk show, Ewan McGregor was asked if he and the crew of Obi-Wan Kenobi did anything special for May 4th (Star Wars day for laymen). McGregor revealed that he filmed a scene with someone quite special, though he remained mum on who it was.
“Yes, I got to play a very special scene on May the 4th with someone very special in my life. That’s all I can tell you about it, but it was a great moment.”
Kimmel, of course, pressed on, trying to get any hints from McGregor, who wouldn’t budge. The Obi-Wan Kenobi star did reveal, however, that he wasn’t related to the person he filmed with, and that he’s never been on camera with them before.
Jimmy Kimmel: “Is this someone special that we’ve seen you on camera with before?”McGregor: “No. I don’t think so.”Kimmel: “Is this special person related to you in some way?”McGregor: “No, not necessarily.”

The Obi-Wan Kenobi series has been described as a special event series for Disney Plus, and details on the upcoming Star Wars series are being hidden away on Tatooine. Still, we do know the series will feature a rematch between Obi-Wan and Darth Vader ten years after the events of Revenge of the Sith and before their final confrontation in A New Hope.
Directed by Deborah Chow from Joby Harold’s scripts, the series stars Ewan McGregor, Hayden Christensen, Moses Ingram, Joel Edgerton, Bonnie Piesse, Kumail Nanjiani, Indira Varma, Rupert Friend, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Sung Kang, Simone Kessell, and Benny Safdie.
