The Falcon and The Winter Soldier star Elijah Richardson recently talked about his potential future as Eli Bradley in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The Falcon and The Winter Soldier was a series that contained many surprises throughout its six-episode run. One of the biggest was the existence of an African American supersoldier who was created after Steve Rogers. The character, Isaiah Bradley, was played by Carl Lumbly and had a history with Bucky Barnes, and was imprisoned for several decades following his service in the Korean War. Following his release, Bradley wanted nothing to do with the world and its problems which included Sam Wilson and Bucky’s mission. But while Isaiah’s days of being a superhero may be behind him, those of his grandson’s, Eli Bradley, are possibly just getting started.
Like in the show, Eli Bradley is the grandson of Isaiah Bradley in the comics. In the Marvel Comics universe, Eli eventually takes up the mantle of Patriot with his own shield and joins the Young Avengers. While Falcon and The Winter Soldier did not necessarily set up Bradley’s potential role as Patriot, actor Elijah Richardson still seems ready and eager to return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
While speaking to The Direct, Elijah Richardson didn’t confirm whether or not he would be returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe after Falcon and The Winter Soldier but was willing and eager to return to the world of the Avengers:
“Honestly that’s kind of all it is, is hopes and dreams. I mean, yeah obviously, who doesn’t want to be a part of the MCU? Right? But I mean, we’ll see. It’s more of a we’ll see.”
