Sony announced Jared Leto’s upcoming Morbius solo outing will now hit theaters a week later from where it was originally positioned.
Morbius was initially supposed to hit theaters last summer on July 10, but the pandemic pushed the Marvel film three weeks from it. Then Sony moved the Jared Leto-led film to March 2021, then to October, and recently, the film found itself in January 2022. It feels like a lifetime ago since we got the first look at Morbius and another might be on hold for a little bit longer since the film has faced yet another delay.
On Friday, Sony revealed Jared Leto’s Morbius is now dated a week from its latest January 21, 2022 release date to January 28, 2022. Part of why Morbius might have been delayed is because Spider-Man: No Way Home is scheduled for December 17, 2021, and a week delay gives the two Sony-Marvel films some more breathing room.
