Michael Keaton is confirmed to return as Batman in Ezra Miller’s The Flash following recent concerns from the actor about the COVID-19 pandemic.
After six years, Ezra Miller’s The Flash movie is finally happening. On Monday, director Andy Muschietti announced the start of filming on The Flash in the United Kingdom and revealed the film’s official logo on social media. In addition to seeing the return of Miller’s Barry Allen, audiences will also get to see Michael Keaton return as Batman decades later.
Last month, Michael Keaton raised concerns about joining The Flash production in the United Kingdom due to the COVID-19 situation. However, Keaton’s talent agency, ICM Partners, confirmed to TheWrap he will be suiting up as Batman once again for the Ezra Miller solo DC project. Keaton last played Bruce Wayne in 1992’s Batman Returns.

Plot details for The Flash are currently unknown. Michael Keaton and Ben Affleck will return as their respective Batmen and guide Barry on this journey inspired by Geoff John’s Flashpoint. Kiersey Clemons will reprise her role as Iris West in the film and Maribel Verdú is set to play Nora Allen.
Directed by Andy Muschietti from a script written by Birds of Prey scribe Christina Hodson, The Flash will be inspired by the Flashpoint comic storyline, which followed The Flash as he navigated an altered DC Universe. Written by Geoff Johns and penciled by Andy Kuber, Flashpoint radically altered the status of the DC Comics universe and led to the launch of the New 52 titles. It is currently unknown how much inspiration the upcoming Ezra Miller film will take from the comic.
The Flash is set to hit theaters on June 3rd, 2022. Stay tuned for all the latest news on Ezra Miller’s The Flash, and be sure to subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for more exclusive video content.
