A brand new trailer for Vin Diesel’s Fast and Furious 9 teases what’s next for Dominic Toretto’s crew ahead of the July release date.
After delays thanks to the ongoing global situation, Fast and Furious 9 is finally back on track to arrive in theaters later this year. The latest sequel ups the ante as John Cena joins the franchise as Dominic Toretto’s brother, Jakub. And with a brand new trailer, fans finally get to see what’s in store for the next high-octane chapter in the Fast Saga. And it teases some very big developments for the franchise that many have joked about for years…
The footage shows Jakub threatening Dom’s family and friends before the action really gets going, showing off fast-paced sequences involving military-grade magnets being used to throw various cars, trucks, bombs and people all over the place. And like Michelle Rodriguez confirmed back in 2020, it looks like they’re going to space as Ludacris and Tyrese Gibson strap into a rocket powered car… It has to be seen to be believed. Take a look below.
What do you make of the new trailer for the film? Are you excited to see Vin Diesel return to play Dom Toretto? Sound-off in the comments below!
Here is the official synopsis for Vin Diesel’s Fast and Furious 9.
Vin Diesel’s Dom Toretto is leading a quiet life off the grid with Letty and his son, little Brian, but they know that danger always lurks just over their peaceful horizon. This time, that threat will force Dom to confront the sins of his past if he’s going to save those he loves most. His crew joins together to stop a world-shattering plot led by the most skilled assassin and high-performance driver they’ve ever encountered: a man who also happens to be Dom’s forsaken brother, Jakob (John Cena, this year’s The Suicide Squad).
F9 sees the return of Justin Lin as director, who helmed the third, fourth, fifth and sixth chapters of the series when it transformed into a global blockbuster. The action hurtles around the globe—from London to Tokyo, from Central America to Edinburgh, and from a secret bunker in Azerbaijan to the teeming streets of Tblisi. Along the way, old friends will be resurrected, old foes will return, history will be rewritten, and the true meaning of family will be tested like never before.
Directed Justin Lin from a script written by Daniel Casey, Fast and Furious 9 stars Vin Diesel, John Cena, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Jordana Brewster, Nathalie Emmanuel, Cardi B and Sung Kang, with Helen Mirren and Charlize Theron.
Fast and Furious 9 will be released in theaters on June 25, 2021. Stay tuned for all the latest news on the future of the franchise and be sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel for more video content in the future!
