Ubisoft “Very Happy” With Immortals Fenyx Rising, Developing For Switch Was A “Challenge”

“We are very happy with the results on all platforms”.

Immortals Fenyx Rising has now been available on Nintendo Switch for almost four months, with regular DLC and updates arriving since launch. We came away with slightly mixed, but mostly positive feelings in our review at the time, with our main criticisms revolving around a reliance on inspiration from Zelda: Breath of the Wild and ‘sludgey’ visuals.

Speaking to Nintendo Everything, Ubisoft’s Julien Galloudec, associate director on the title, has explained just how much of a “challenge” the Switch version of the game was to develop. “It was an intention from the start to release the game on multiple platforms, including the Switch and the current-gen and next-gen,” Galloudec explains. “It was definitely another way to go out of our comfort zone because we are kind of used to developing on multiple platforms for current-gen.”
