Dwayne Johnson has announced that Black Adam has kicked off production with the a photo from the set of the highly-anticipated movie.
This morning, Dwayne Johnson took to his official Instagram page to share a photo that reveals that he has started filming Black Adam, the long-awaited comic book adaptation focusing on Shazam’s arch-nemesis. The photo features the film’s clapper board, with Johnson using the caption to offer a shoutout to its production crew. Check out the Instagram post below.
The Black Adam movie is being directed by Jaume Collet-Serra, who recently collaborated with Dwayne Johnson on Disney’s Jungle Cruise. Rory Haines and Sohrab Noshirvani wrote the latest draft of the script. Adam Sztykiel worked on a previous draft.
In addition to Dwayne Johnson, Black Adam also stars Aldis Hodge as Hawkman, Noah Centineo as Atom Smasher, Quintessa Swindell as Cyclone and Pierce Brosnan as Doctor Fate. Sarah Shahi, Marwan Kenzari, James Cusati-Moyer and Bodhi Sabongui are also on board in undisclosed roles.
Dwayne Johnson, Dany Garcia and Hiram Garcia of Seven Bucks Productions are producing the Black Adam movie with Beau Flynn of FlynnPictureCo. FlynnPictureCo’s Scott Sheldon serves as an executive producer.
