Regé-Jean Page and Cameron Cuffe both addressed the controversy surrounding the casting of Seg-El on Krypton that was revealed recently.
Earlier this week, more details about the behind-the-scenes at Warner Bros. drama regarding DC’s Geoff Johns and others offered some interesting new tidbits. One of them was the revelation that Geoff Johns reportedly refused to cast Regé-Jean Page as Seg-El due to his skin color and not looking like Superman actor Henry Cavill.
Cameron Cuffe eventually landed the role of Seg-El on Krypton for its two seasons on the air. Years later and Regé-Jean Page is now one of the most in-demand young actors in Hollywood after his turn in Netflix’s Bridgerton, and it all feels like a miscalculation in hindsight. Following the recent DC report, Page took to Twitter and addressed the Krypton casting controversy, and Cuffe later responded to it. You can check out both of their responses below:
Regé is an inspiration to me and thousands of other artists. No one should feel okay benefiting from individuals or institutions that treat their fellow humans so unjustly. Change must happen. https://t.co/sgLQ9OjNjb
