Gugu Mbatha-Raw’s character in Loki has been revealed and she is someone Marvel comics fans will know since she has a connection to Kang the Conqueror.
On Monday, Marvel Studios debuted another trailer for Loki ahead of the show’s premiere in a few months on Disney Plus. In addition to the brand-new trailer, we learned the identities of Owen Wilson (Mobius) and Gugu Mbatha-Raw (Judge Renslayer) thanks to some new photos also released by Marvel Studios. Mbatha-Raw’s character is particularly interesting given her connection to Kang the Conqueror.
In Marvel lore, Gugu Mbatha-Raw’s Judge Renslayer has a complicated relationship with Kang the Conqueror. Kang is in love with Ravonna and does what he can to impress her, but the feeling is not mutual at first. In the end, Ravonna does come around to loving Kang and ultimately sacrifices herself for him. It’s unclear whether or not Jonathan Majors will appear in Loki as Kang before his appearance in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, but it seems there are definitely going to several hints at the Fantastic Four villain in the upcoming Disney Plus series.
