Warner Bros. is reportedly including a Supergirl solo film on their 2022-23 slate with The Flash‘s Sasha Calle presumably set to star.
On Thursday, real news broke that Warner Bros. was no longer moving forward with Ava DuVernay’s The New Gods or The Trench. The Hollywood Reporter story also mentioned a Supergirl project is set for a 2022-23 release, which will most likely star Sasha Calle. Black Adam, Shazam! Fury of the Gods, Blue Beetle, Batgirl, Green Lantern Corps, and Static Shock were also listed for 2022-23.
Sasha Calle was recently announced as Supergirl and will first appear in Ezra Miller’s The Flash. Before Calle was revealed for the role, a Supergirl film was already in development over at Warner Bros. with writer Oren Uziel. It’s unclear if Uziel’s script will still be used, but it is clear a Supergirl project is a major priority at the studio.

The upcoming Flash solo film will be inspired by the Flashpoint comic storyline which followed The Flash as he navigated an altered DC Universe. Written by Geoff Johns and penciled by Andy Kuber, Flashpoint radically altered the status of the DC Comics universe and led to the launch of the New 52 titles. It is currently unknown how much inspiration the upcoming Ezra Miller film will take from the comic.
Directed by Andy Muschietti from a script written by Birds of Prey scribe Christina Hodson, The Flash stars Ezra Miller, Michael Keaton, Ben Affleck, Sasha Calle, and Billy Crudup.
The Flash is set to hit theaters on November 4, 2022. Stay tuned for all the latest news regarding Sasha Calle’s Supergirl, and be sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel for more content!
