Games are a huge part of the world of Nintendo — no argument there! — but the wonderful audio work and soundtracks from the software itself are just one part of the aural equation. The greatest Nintendo titles are accompanied by a hardware soundscape of mechanical clicks, thunks, ker-chunks, taps, spins, switch flips and the unmistakable sound of plastic gliding over plastic.
Well, Zion — one of our lovely video producers — decided to explore the wonderful world of Nintendo sounds in an audio-visual feast (above) showcasing some of the sounds most familiar to Nintendo fans. This is utterly iconic audio that you’ll instantly recognise — sounds that weren’t composed by Koji Kondo or the team of musical maestros at Nintendo HQ.
