Jensen Ackles, Josh Duhamel, Troy Baker, David Dastmalchian, Jack Quaid, the late Naya Rivera, and others will star in the upcoming animated adaptation of Batman: The Long Halloween.
In August, it was confirmed that a two-part Batman: The Long Halloween animated adaptation was in the works and arrive in 2021. The Long Halloween is considered one of the greatest Batman stories ever and said to be a major inspiration for the upcoming Robert Pattinson film. As far as the animated film is concerned, The Hollywood Reporter shared Batman: Under the Red Hood‘s Jensen Ackles, Josh Duhamel, and other stars will help bring it to the screen.
Batman: The Long Halloween—Part One will feature the voicing talents of Jensen Ackles as Batman, Josh Duhamel as Harvey Dent, Billy Burke as James Gordon, Titus Welliver as Carmine Falcone, David Dastmalchian as Calendar Man, Troy Baker as Joker, Amy Landecker as Barbara Gordon, Julie Nathanson as Gilda Dent, Jack Quaid as Alberto, Fred Tatasciore as Solomon Grundy, Alastair Duncan as Alfred, and the late Naya Rivera as Catwoman. Frances Callier, Greg Chun, Gary Leroi Gray, and Jim Pirri will also be heard in the film. Superman: Man of Tomorrow‘s Chris Palmer is directing the animated films from a script written by Tim Sheridan. The adaptation’s first part is expected to arrive in the spring or summer. Taking place during Batman’s early days of crime fighting, this collection tells the story of a mysterious killer who murders his prey only on holidays. Working with District Attorney Harvey Dent and Lieutenant James Gordon, Batman races against the calendar as he tries to discover who Holiday is before he claims his next victim each month. A mystery that has the reader continually guessing the identity of the killer, this story also ties into the events that transform Harvey Dent into Batman’s deadly enemy, Two-Face.
