PSA: I’ve just spent the last hour scrolling my way through NET-A-PORTER’s new S/S 21 shop (which is, fittingly, named Ready-to-Wear), and I have to say, if you’re having a dull week, this might just perk you up. Filled with so many fantasy summer buys, this new-in treasure trove is sure to set any fashion lover’s heart racing, and I speak from experience. The colours! The dramatic silhouettes! The versatile accessories! As someone who can’t wait to get back into the swing of dressing for more than just my sofa, this edit has seriously sparked joy.
Yep, we are 100% invested in endorphin dressing this summer because, honestly, we all deserve it after the year we’ve had. After my cheeky browsing session, I decided to put together five dream outfits that perfectly encapsulate this mood, and of course, it’s filled with bold colourways and unapologetic pairings. If, like me, you’re not usually a print-clasher, I would recommend trying tonal dressing, and luckily this season’s co-ords make this so much easier. Just look at the below tangerine-coloured two-piece from Christopher Esber—add chunky sandals and prepare to bring a little French Riviera appeal to your weekend wardrobe.
There are also plenty of other ways to introduce joy into your summer outfits without reaching for colour. For example, a dramatic necklace will add instant impact to a simple blouse (this piece from Prada is a stunner) or why not tuck your fave long-sleeved top into a pair of dramatic wide-leg trousers (cc this pair from Proenza Schouler)?
But really, the most important thing is that you do you, and if that’s sticking to your knitted co-ord for a little longer, then all power to you. Personally, I’m going all out when April 12 arrives, and yes, it might be extra, but I’m okay with it. If you fancy some inspo for the coming months, scroll down to see the feel-good outfits that are inspiring me right now.
