Christian Bale’s final outing as Batman in The Dark Knight Rises is set to arrive on HBO Max next month.
HBO Max is adding yet another stellar superhero movie to its roster in April to complete Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy. Batman Begins and The Dark Knight are already available to stream on the service, but the company is finally adding the 2012 blockbuster, The Dark Knight Rises, to the list. It was the last film starring Christian Bale as the iconic Caped Crusader before the mantle was passed over to Ben Affleck for Batman v Superman and Justice League.
The film debuts on HBO Max next month on April 17, and it pits Christian Bale’s Bruce Wayne against Tom Hardy’s Bane as the hero has to grapple with consequences of his actions in The Dark Knight as well as trying to save Gotham City for a final time. It’s a stunning conclusion to the trilogy. We’ll next see Christian Bale as Gorr the God butcher in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as he faces off with Chris Hemsworth’s Asgardian hero in Thor: Love and Thunder.

Here’s the synopsis for The Dark Knight Rises:
It has been eight years since Batman (Christian Bale), in collusion with Commissioner Gordon (Gary Oldman), vanished into the night. Assuming responsibility for the death of Harvey Dent, Batman sacrificed everything for what he and Gordon hoped would be the greater good. However, the arrival of a cunning cat burglar (Anne Hathaway) and a merciless terrorist named Bane (Tom Hardy) force Batman out of exile and into a battle he may not be able to win.
