He might be better known as Deadpool now, but Ryan Reynolds revealed that he kept the Green Lantern ring from his brief tenure as Hal Jordan.
It’s fair to say that Green Lantern isn’t the most popular DC film of all time after it was poorly received by critics and audiences alike among a host of complaints about the over-reliance on special effects and a stereotypical storyline. And although at one point Zack Snyder considered putting Ryan Reynolds in his Justice League cut as the Ring-Slinger, the Deadpool star is seemingly done with the character of Hal Jordan.
But ahead of the Snyder Cut’s debut on HBO Max this week, Ryan Reynolds decided to do something he’d apparently never done before… He sat and watched Green Lantern. Accompanied by a trusty bottle of his Aviation Gin, the Deadpool lead put himself through the 2010 film from director Martin Campbell. But most surprisingly of all, Reynolds revealed that he kept the hero’s ring from filming. Since there was probably a number of rings made for the production, it’s not surprising that he managed to keep one. Take a look at Ryan Reynolds drinking his way through Green Lantern below.

Do you think Ryan Reynolds should return as Green Lantern at some point in the future? What did you think to the Snyder Cut? Are you excited to see Reynolds in Deadpool 3? Sound-off in the comments belo!
Here is the official synopsis for the Snyder Cut:
“In ZACK SNYDER’S JUSTICE LEAGUE, determined to ensure Superman’s (Henry Cavill) ultimate sacrifice was not in vain, Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck) aligns forces with Diana Prince (Gal Gadot) with plans to recruit a team of metahumans to protect the world from an approaching threat of catastrophic proportions. The task proves more difficult than Bruce imagined, as each of the recruits must face the demons of their own pasts to transcend that which has held them back, allowing them to come together, finally forming an unprecedented league of heroes. Now united, Batman (Affleck), Wonder Woman (Gadot), Aquaman (Jason Momoa), Cyborg (Ray Fisher) and The Flash (Ezra Miller) may be too late to save the planet from Steppenwolf, DeSaad and Darkseid and their dreadful intentions.”
Directed by Zack Snyder, Justice League stars Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Gal Gadot, Ezra Miller, Jason Momoa, Ray Fisher, Jeremy Irons, Diane Lane, Connie Nielsen, J. K. Simmons, and Ciarán Hinds.
