Ezra Miller’s solo The Flash movie from Andy Muschietti will recast the role of Henry Allen following Billy Crudup’s exit from the film.
Although he’ll next be seen in Zack Snyder’s Justice League, Billy Crudup won’t be returning to play Henry Allen in Ezra Miller’s solo outing in The Flash. Well, solo in the sense that he’ll be the leading hero among the likes of Ben Affleck and Michael Keaton‘s respective Batmen. Crudup appeared in Justice League providing an emotional motivation for Miller’s Barry Allen, who looks to pursue a career in crime scene investigation as a means of freeing him after he was wrongly convicted of murdering Nora Allen.
Borys Kit of The Hollywood Reporter originally broke the story that Billy Crudup won’t return for The Flash, explaining that scheduling conflicts were the reason behind his exit. However, many fans wondered whether this meant Henry Allen would be written out of the film completely, but that isn’t the case at all. Kit recently clarified on Twitter that Billy Crudup’s role as Henry Allen is being recast for the Ezra Miller film. Take a look below.
Because some of you demanded an answer (and I didn’t make clear in the article)… the part of Barry Allen’s father will be recast. It was not written out. https://t.co/tryqaC3768

Are you excited to see more from Ezra Miller’s The Flash in Zack Snyder’s Justice League? Are you disappointed Billy Crudup won’t return to play Henry Allen again? Sound-off in the comments below.
Directed by Andy Muschietti from a script written by Birds of Prey scribe Christina Hodson, The Flash will be inspired by the Flashpoint comic storyline which followed The Flash as he navigated an altered DC Universe. Written by Geoff Johns and penciled by Andy Kuber, Flashpoint radically altered the status of the DC Comics universe and led to the launch of the New 52 titles. It is currently unknown how much inspiration the upcoming Ezra Miller film will take from the comic.
The Flash is set to hit theaters on June 3rd, 2022. Stay tuned for all the latest news on The Flash and be sure to subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for more exclusive video content.
