Doctor Strange Scarlet Witch Avengers Endgame Kevin Feige WandaVisionDoctor Strange star Benedict Cumberbatch says it would’ve been fun for the Sorcerer Supreme to cameo in WandaVision.

Over the course of WandaVision airing weekly, there had been a number of theories about whether the series would directly tie into future Marvel films like Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, as Elizabeth Olsen’s Avenger has a role in the Benedict Cumberbatch sequel. The theories were fuelled even further when Evan Peters’ Quicksilver showed up, with many fans assuming he was pulled in from across the multiverse.

While speaking to Jake Hamilton, Benedict Cumberbatch opened up about the idea – explaining that it “would’ve been fun” to star opposite Elizabeth Olsen and really open the door for the upcoming Doctor Strange sequel. However, the star pointed out that he’s been quite busy with other projects of late, including The Mauritanian. Take a look at Benedict Cumberbatch discussing WandaVision below.

“Aww. I’m sorry to disappoint you. I don’t know, yeah. I mean, that would’ve been fun I guess. It would’ve let into [Elizabeth Olsen’s] involvement with [Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness] but, ah hell, you know. That’s all to come. We’re in the middle of it now, we’ve been filming since before Christmas, and it’s very exciting. And yeah, today’s a good day, not only talking about this film, but also our production company, in general, is doing great. We just got five nominations for The Mauritanian which is a film I’m proud of. So yeah, I wasn’t in WandaVision, I’d been quite busy, I guess that’s why I mentioned The Mauritanian is also because I wanted to talk about [it].”

Matt Shakman directed the series with Jac Schaeffer as the lead scribe; WandaVision stars Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch, Paul Bettany as The Vision, Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau, Kat Dennings as Darcy Lewis, Randall Park as Agent Jimmy Woo, Evan Peters as Ralph Bohner, and Kathryn Hahn as Agatha Harkness. Marvel’s Kevin Feige has said that the series leads into Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
