Carol Danvers herself, Brie Larson, recently touched on what to expect from Captain Marvel 2 when the film eventually arrives on the big screen.
It’s hard to believe that it’s been two whole years since Captain Marvel debuted in theaters ahead of Avengers: Endgame – but here we are. The cosmic adventure introduced wider audiences to Brie Larson’s Carol Danvers and her incredible abilities shortly before we saw her blasting Thanos in the face during Endgame. The sequel is currently in development, recently adding Zawe Ashton to the cast as Captain Marvel 2‘s villain. Some fans might already be aware that Larson has her own YouTube channel, and she recently celebrated the two-years since Captain Marvel was released by briefly touching on what to expect from the upcoming sequel.
Brie Larson was careful not to reveal anything too specific about Captain Marvel 2, explaining to audiences “I can’t tell you anything!” We already know that the sequel will see Danvers team up with Iman Vellani’s Ms. Marvel and Teyonah Parris’ Monica Rambeau. But Larson also noted that she’s excited to ‘expand’ on what Carol means to audiences, so we can likely expect the sequel to explore her status in the universe as a galactic icon. Take a look below.
“I’ve changed so much, I’ve grown so much, and so I’m really excited to see what I can bring to Carol and the Captain Marvel sequel with who I am now. To see how all of you have embraced Carol, and taken her on, and used her as a symbol for whatever it is. If there’s difficulties that are going on in your life, moments of strength that you need that you can pull from this character and find something, whether it’s a line from the film or from the comics. That has been absolutely remarkable and incredible, and I’m excited to keep expanding on that. In terms of the sequel, one of the things I get asked a lot — a lot, a lot, a lot, a lot — is if there’s anything I can tell you about the sequel. And the thing I can tell you is that: I can’t tell you anything!”
