Back in June 2020 high street shoe saviour, Dune, released what had to be one of the coolest affordable sandals we’d seen all year. Chunky, textured and oh-so comfy, they quickly made the rounds on Instagram thanks to their high-end finish. I was very lucky to be sent a pair by the brand just before they sold out, and I literally wore them every day last summer. While they’ve been out of stock for months now, and have accrued a long waiting list, we can happily say that the sandal is back for 2021 and now comes in some very cool new colourways.
Summer might be a little way away still, but I’m going to wear these babies this spring with jeans and jumpers, jackets and trousers, and maybe even a cheeky socks-and-sandals combo for lazy WFH days. Seriously, these are worth the investment, and I’m confident that the chunky sandal trend will continue to thrive this year, so you’ll get plenty of cost-per-wear. Scroll down to see how I’ve been wearing them and shop the sandals. They won’t be around for long, however, so don’t delay.
Dune’s chunky sandals offer my tailored trousers and smart top a trend-led twist.
A chunky knit and cargo skirt can work for tricky transitional weather with Dune’s lockstock sandals.
