Although rumors online suggested Amber Heard had been fired from Aquaman 2, the claim about the Jason Momoa sequel has been debunked.
In the aftermath of Johnny Depp’s recent legal battles regarding the allegations of abuse made by Aquaman star Amber Heard, Warner Bros. decided to ask Depp to leave his role in the Fantastic Beasts franchise. Some fans were instantly outraged, with many calling for Heard to be pulled from the upcoming Jason Momoa sequel which she already confirmed she’s set to star in. But a recent rumor online claimed she had recently been let go from the role.
The rumor was met with plenty of praise by a number of fans, but according to The Hollywood Reporter’s Ryan Parker, these reports are inaccurate. It seems like Amber Heard will still play Mera opposite Jason Momoa in Aquaman 2 and won’t be replaced. It’s not yet clear how big her role will be in the sequel and it’s entirely possible that her screen-time could be greatly reduced to avoid even more backlash, but that’s pure speculation at this point. Take a look below.
