WarnerMedia has commented on Ray Fisher’s tweet regarding DC Films president Walter Hamada and the much-discussed Justice League investigation.
This morning, Ray Fisher took to his official Twitter page to criticize DC Films president Walter Hamada and Warner Brothers, saying that they “tried to destroy a Black man’s credibility, and publicly delegitimize a very serious investigation, with lies in the press? But hey, Black Superman… A>E.” The ending of the message is a reference to the recent news that Ta-Nehisi Coates is writing a Superman feature for Warner Bros. and DC, with J.J. Abrams on board as a producer.

In response to the latest tweet by Ray Fisher, WarnerMedia issued a statement defending Wamada and the rest of its executives who participated in the Justice League investigation. The company said that Fisher’s latest allegations are “false” and that’s time to “move forward productively.” Here’s the full message:
“Once again there are false statements being made about our executives and our company surrounding the recent Justice League investigation. As we have stated before, an extensive and thorough third-party investigation was conducted. Our executives, including Walter Hamada, fully cooperated, no evidence was found of any interference whatsoever, and Warner Bros. did not lie in the press. It’s time to stop saying otherwise and move forward productively.”
WarnerMedia also shared a statement from Katherine B. Forrest, a former federal judge who worked on the Justice League investigation, defending Hamada:
“I am disappointed by continued public statements made suggesting that Walter Hamada in any way interfered with the Justice League investigation. He did not. I interviewed him extensively on more than one occasion and specifically interviewed him concerning his very limited interaction with Mr. Fisher. I found Mr. Hamada credible and forthcoming. I concluded that he did nothing that impeded or interfered with the investigation. To the contrary, the information that he provided was useful and advanced the investigation.”
Zack Snyder is currently working on his Justice League cut for HBO Max. Previously, in a comment on Instagram, Justice League stunt performer Nick McKinless revealed that there was apparently an entire fight sequence between Ares and a younger Darkseid when he first invaded Earth in the Zack Snyder Cut. The actor was cast as Ares for the sequence and trained for four months to get in proper shape for the role. However, McKinless was not credited in the thetrical cut of the movie.
Darkseid almost played a larger role in Zack Snyder’s Justice League and subsequent DC Extended Universe films. However, after Joss Whedon assumed directorial duties during post-production and oversaw extensive re-shoots for Justice League, Darkseid was removed from the theatrical cut and Warner Bros. reassessed their plans for future DCEU films following the underwhelming reviews and box office gross of the film. Snyder’s original 5 movie-arc for the DCEU was also said to include events like the murder of Lois Lane and of half the Justice League, with Darkseid taking control of the heartbroken Superman with the Anti-Life Equation.
