Warner Bros. is reportedly looking to cast a Black Superman for the upcoming reboot from producer JJ Abrams.
After the shocking news that JJ Abrams is producing a new Superman reboot alongside writer Ta-Nehisi Coates for Warner Bros., it sounds as if the studio is looking to cast a Black Man of Steel for the upcoming project. There’s been talk of Michael B. Jordan taking over the role from Henry Cavill for quite some time, although when talking about the role back in 2019, the star explained that if he were to take on a character like that it would be done with “care and caution”.
Following the reboot news, The Hollywood Reporter’s Borys Kit explained on Twitter that although Michael B. Jordan attempted to develop his Superman project in 2019, it didn’t get very far. However, according to the journalist’s sources Warner Bros. and JJ Abrams could return to him to play the lead in the new reboot. Take a look below.

“In ZACK SNYDER’S JUSTICE LEAGUE, determined to ensure Superman’s (Henry Cavill) ultimate sacrifice was not in vain, Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck) aligns forces with Diana Prince (Gal Gadot) with plans to recruit a team of metahumans to protect the world from an approaching threat of catastrophic proportions. The task proves more difficult than Bruce imagined, as each of the recruits must face the demons of their own pasts to transcend that which has held them back, allowing them to come together, finally forming an unprecedented league of heroes. Now united, Batman (Affleck), Wonder Woman (Gadot), Aquaman (Jason Momoa), Cyborg (Ray Fisher) and The Flash (Ezra Miller) may be too late to save the planet from Steppenwolf, DeSaad and Darkseid and their dreadful intentions.”
