Danny Elfman will team up with Marvel Studios again to provide the score for Sam Raimi’s Doctor Strange 2.
There’s still over a year to go until Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness arrives in theaters, but legendary composer Danny Elfman recently confirmed that he’ll be scoring the sequel, which stars Benedict Cumberbatch, Elizabeth Olsen and newcomer Xochitl Gomez. Elfman has previously worked on Avengers: Age of Ultron for Marvel Studios as well as providing the iconic score for Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man and Spider-Man 2.
During a conversation with Inverse, Danny Elfman confirmed his involvement with the Doctor Strange sequel, although he pointed out that he doesn’t properly start work on the score for some time but there are a few recordings the crew are using on the set. Hopefully with WandaVision starting to gear up to a climax we’ll have a better idea of how the Benedict Cumberbatch sequel will utilize Scarlet Witch. Take a look at Danny Elfman’s words on the Sam Raimi film below.
“I am starting to do bits of pre-work for Doctor Strange 2 that Sam Raimi’s directing. Even though I don’t start it for some months, there’s bits of recorded music they need for the sets.”
