& Other Stories’ Spring Collection Just Landed—and It’s My Dream Capsule

There is something somewhat incongruous about writing about spring fashion when flecks of snow are falling outside and the temperature gauge is threatening to drop below zero, but I guess that’s fashion for you—always one step ahead of the action. There is also something to be said for the escapism that comes from contemplating the upcoming season, for example & Other Stories has just dropped its spring collection, and I can’t help but picture myself leisurely grabbing a coffee in a light jacket and jeans, with not a scarf in sight. Sigh.

Personally, I find spring to be one of my favourite seasons fashion-wise because you get the best of both worlds: The creativity and interest of light layers without the logistics of cladding yourself in high-tech, winter-proof outerwear. And of course, there’s the sense of hope for longer days and temperate climates. All this is captured in & Other Stories’ new season drop, which focuses on a ‘return to classics’, something we are always here for.

With unpredictable British weather dictating our outfit choices, we’re stocking up on trans-seasonal basics that can be layered-up now then dressed-down come summer. We’re talking clean-lined tailoring, wear-with-everything denim, timeless accessories and versatile separates. Case in point: a V-neck vest will look fab layered over a roll neck now, but just as good worn by itself with a chunky chain necklace when the mercury rises. Meanwhile, a pair of chain-detail loafers will pair nicely with jeans and a jumper now, then add interest to floaty summer dresses in 3 months’ time. Colour-wise, neutrals are still in the spotlight, however pops of pastels are creeping in via throw-on cardigans and lightweight quilted jackets.

So, if you’re in need of some spring escapism, scroll down to see and shop the & Other Stories new season buys I’m bookmarking right now. Hurry up March.
