The rating for Zack Snyder’s Justice League has officially been revealed and it seems like the HBO Max film will be a little darker than expected.
Zack Snyder has long teased the extra content that will be included in his version of Justice League, revealing the arrival of Martian Manhunter and new footage involving Joe Manganiello’s Deathstroke. But the film has finally received its official rating ahead of its debut on HBO Max on March 18, and unlike the theatrical version directed by Joss Whedon it might not be suitable for kids to watch.
Justice League has officially been given an R-rating for “violence and some language”, not that it’ll effect its financial prospects since most fans will be watching the film at home on HBO Max. The director previously opened up about the violence in the film, explaining that Steppenwolf is “hacking people in half” while also talking about the language from characters like Batman and Cyborg.

Here is the official synopsis for Zack Snyder’s Justice League:
“In ZACK SNYDER’S JUSTICE LEAGUE, determined to ensure Superman’s (Henry Cavill) ultimate sacrifice was not in vain, Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck) aligns forces with Diana Prince (Gal Gadot) with plans to recruit a team of metahumans to protect the world from an approaching threat of catastrophic proportions. The task proves more difficult than Bruce imagined, as each of the recruits must face the demons of their own pasts to transcend that which has held them back, allowing them to come together, finally forming an unprecedented league of heroes. Now united, Batman (Affleck), Wonder Woman (Gadot), Aquaman (Jason Momoa), Cyborg (Ray Fisher) and The Flash (Ezra Miller) may be too late to save the planet from Steppenwolf, DeSaad and Darkseid and their dreadful intentions.”
Directed by Zack Snyder, Justice League stars Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Gal Gadot, Ezra Miller, Jason Momoa, Ray Fisher, Jeremy Irons, Diane Lane, Connie Nielsen, J. K. Simmons, and Ciarán Hinds.
