An animated Game of Thrones series is reportedly in the works for HBO Max as WarnerMedia continues to develop more projects based on the successful series.
Game of Thrones might have ended two years ago, but HBO has a ton of plans for where the franchise will go in the future. While a pilot for a series starring Naomi Watts didn’t work out, the network is moving forward with House of the Dragon, which is gearing up for filming soon. It was also revealed last week that a series based on the Tales of Dunk and Egg is also in development.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, HBO Max is also developing an animated series set in the Game of Thrones universe. The report states that the series will be geared towards adults as the network is currently meeting with writers. This all comes as it was also reported earlier this week that WarnerMedia is looking to develop a live-action series set in Harry Potter‘s Wizarding World to compete with Disney Plus’ massive Star Wars and Marvel line-up.
