I’m a huge blazer fan, and my simple black version can be partnered up with pretty much everything in my wardrobe. I love to incorporate androgynous pieces into an outfit, so there’s just something I find so much more stylish about an oversize fit. If I were to choose one piece I had to wear forever and with every outfit, a black oversize blazer would win every time. My go-to? It’s a £135 style from COS that is still available, and I’d say it’s worth spending a little extra on this high-street jacket, as it will be a better cut, fit, and quality of fabric—all of which will contribute to you wearing it for many years to come. Style Notes: A simple yet stylish way to wear an oversize black blazer is with an all-black look. I always feel put-together when wearing all black, and it’s a lifesaver on those “don’t know what to wear” days.
Style Notes: Winter is my favourite time for getting dressed. I love layering and experimenting with different textures. I find that playing with layers is a great way to discover new outfits with pieces you already have. A black oversize blazer is perfect for layering. It’s neutral and will fit under or over any outfit. Here, I’m wearing the trousers and boots from my first outfit—getting extra wear out of everything!
Style Notes: A black oversize blazer with loungewear and chunky boots is one of my favourite looks. It just gives it an edge and elevation of the ultimate cosy outfit. I tend to size up in sweaters or hoodies, so an oversize jacket works well here.
Style Notes: Jeans and a white T-shirt, need I say more? The perfect combo for a classic, chic, and laid-back look. This sort of outfit has been one of my go-tos for a few years. It can be worn with trainers, flats, or heeled boots or sandals. I just love it!
Style Notes: Saving the best until last! One of the most obvious ways to wear an oversize black blazer is as part of a suit. You don’t have to own the matching trousers to your blazer, either. Just throw on a pair of simple black trousers and you’ve essentially got a suit. For me, this is the ultimate confidence outfit, and it makes me feel good every time.
