These 19 Spring Basics Are Exactly What I Want to Be Wearing Right Now

It might still be Baltic outside, but our editors are now in full ‘spring’ mode, bringing you our take on the spring trends that are worth buying into and combing through all the new collections to bring you tight edits of the best pieces out there. Our shopping editor Joy Montgomery has already created this epic overview of the strongest items on the high street right now, but there was one collection which I thought deserved a little extra attention. Mango has become a firm favourite within the fashion crowd over the last few years, responding to what is trending to the higher echelons of design, putting its own spin on Instagram trends and working with the likes of Camille Charrière, Giorgia Tordini and Pernille Teisbaek.

Mango might have pivoted several years ago to be a more Instagram-focused brand, however the spring collection proves that this doesn’t mean it is just responding to blink-and-you’ve-missed-them viral fashion trends. In Mango’s new-in section you’ll find lots of timeless spring staples, from ruffled blouses to breton jumpers to classic cardigans. It is the small design details however that make these pieces stand out to me, such as the circular 70s zips on knitwear and the green colour palette. Keep scrolling to see the 19 pieces I loved from Mango’s new-in section.

So timeless.

How pretty are these ruffles.

I’m loving rectangular frames at the moment.

The vest trend is going strong into 2021.

Mango has created so many faux leather pieces in beautiful pastels.

The perfect spring coat.

More leather shirting.

These look very Parisian.

An essential for spring walks.

These come with a matching blazer too.

Ah how we love a knitted vest.

This fringe trim gets a big yes from us.

The zip makes this more interesting than your average black jumper.

It comes in white too.

Is it spring already?

Mango’s spring accessories all have a ’70s feel thanks to the use of brown suede.

Just beautiful.

There are matching shorts too.

This brown cardigan also has a real Parisian feel—especially when paired with the ruffle collar.
