The first two episodes of WandaVision debuted last Friday, and for some MCU fans, it might have sparked some confusion due to the show’s riff on sitcoms from the ’50s and ’60s. We’ve had Marvel Studios projects that have taken place in the past before, like Captain Marvel, but that will not be the case with WandaVision, per grown-up Monica Rambeau actress Teyonah Parris.

As the first Marvel Studios project of Phase Four, Teyonah Parris confirmed that WandaVision does indeed take place after the universe-shattering events of Avengers: Endgame and the death of Vision in Infinity War:

“[WandaVision] picks up right after the events of [Avengers:] Endgame, and for Monica, it’s obviously years later from when we saw her as a girl in Captain Marvel. We get to find out what’s been happening with her over those years that we missed, how she’s grown and evolved.”

Marvel Studios’ “WandaVision” blends the style of classic sitcoms with the Marvel Cinematic Universe in which Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen) and Vision (Paul Bettany)—two super-powered beings living their ideal suburban lives—begin to suspect that everything is not as it seems.

Matt Shakman directed the series with Jac Schaeffer as the lead scribe; WandaVision will star Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch, Paul Bettany as The Vision, Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau, Kat Dennings as Darcy Lewis, Randall Park as Agent Jimmy Woo, and Kathryn Hahn in an undisclosed role. The President of Marvel Studios has said that the series leads into Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

WandaVision premieres on Disney Plus every Friday. Keep following along to stay up to date on all of the latest news surrounding the MCU, and subscribe to our YouTube channel for more heroic content!
