Warner Bros. has launched their Oscars campaign for Wonder Woman 1984 by submitting the DC sequel for consideration in the major categories.
Wonder Woman 1984 was one of the few movies to come out in 2020, thanks to a release on HBO Max, which means it also qualifies for the 93rd Academy Awards. The reaction to Wonder Woman 1984 might have been mixed, but that isn’t stopping Warner Bros. from launching their Oscars campaign for the superhero film.
The studio has submitted Wonder Woman 1984 for all the major categories at this year’s Oscars such as Gal Gadot for Best Actress, Patty Jenkins for Best Director, and for Best Picture. Last year, Joker took home the Oscars for Best Score and Best Actor after 11 nominations.

Here is the synopsis for the DC film:
Patty Jenkins returns to direct the next chapter in the story, which finds Diana Prince (Gal Gadot) living and working among mortals, remaining selfless in a vibrant era of excess and “having it all.” But her own values are challenged as she reunites with a lost love while stepping into the spotlight to help humanity escape a dangerous world of its own making. Also starring Chris Pine, Kristen Wiig, Pedro Pascal, Robin Wright and Connie Nielsen.
Directed by Patty Jenkins from a script she co-wrote with David Callaham and a treatment she developed with Geoff Johns, the film stars Gal Gadot, Chris Pine, Kristen Wiig, Pedro Pascal, Natasha Rothwell, Ravi Patel, Gabriella Wilde, Connie Nielson, and Robin Wright.
