Former writer on Ezra Miller’s The Flash Phil Lord revealed that something “really fun” was being planned for the Scarlet Speedster’s solo film.
It might be some time before Ezra Miller headlines his own movie in the DC Extended Universe, but according to former writer Phil Lord, the original plan for The Flash was “really fun.” The film recently made the headlines as a report from The Wrap says Ray Fisher’s Cyborg cameo in the film has been completely written out. It’s not clear whether Fisher was included in Phil Lord and Chris Miller’s original treatment for the project, but it was set in the same timeline as Zack Snyder’s Justice League.
During a conversation on Twitter about what Zack Snyder, Phil Lord and Chris Miller had planned for The Flash, Lord explained that they had “cooked up something really fun” before going on to praise Snyder and his team. The Flash has had a turbulent time on the road to production, but with IT director Andy Muschietti onboard, the Ezra Miller film will now seemingly start filming overseas in April. Take a look at Phil Lord discussing the project below.
We cooked up something really fun. Lovely spending time with Zack and team and seeing what they were up to

Are you disappointed Phil Lord and Chris Miller’s version of The Flash won’t be used in the film? What do you think they had planned for Ezra Miller’s Barry Allen? Sound-off in the comments below!
The upcoming solo film will be inspired by the Flashpoint comic storyline which followed The Flash as he navigated an altered DC Universe. Written by Geoff Johns and penciled by Andy Kuber, Flashpoint radically altered the status of the DC Comics universe and led to the launch of the New 52 titles. It is currently unknown how much inspiration the upcoming Ezra Miller film will take from the comic.
Directed by Andy Muschietti from a script written by Birds of Prey scribe Christina Hodson, The Flash stars Ezra Miller, Michael Keaton, Ben Affleck, and Billy Crudup.
The Flash is set to hit theaters on June 3rd, 2022. Stay tuned for all the latest news on Ray Fisher, the DC Extended Universe, and be sure to subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for more exclusive video content.
