Warner Bros Ray Fisher Cyborg The Flash Ezra Miller Rick Famuyiwa Ezra MillerRay Fisher’s cameo in The Flash has reportedly been scrapped and the Cyborg role will not be recast for the upcoming solo film starring Ezra Miller.

The Flash is finally set to begin filming in April overseas with Ezra Miller reprising his role as the Scarlet Speedster from Justice League with Michael Keaton and Ben Affleck also returning as their versions of Batman in the film. Ray Fisher was also attached to The Flash, but sources at The Wrap now say that his planned Cyborg cameo will no longer happen. Despite rumors of Cyborg being recast, Warner Bros. is also not currently looking for another actor to take over the role either.

The news of Ray Fisher’s scrapped cameo in The Flash comes as the actor continues to speak out against what allegedly occurred during Joss Whedon’s Justice League reshoots. Most recently, Fisher shared on social media that he will no longer work with current DC Films head Walter Hamada, who just received a contract extension from Warner Bros. that will put him in charge till 2023.

The upcoming solo film will be inspired by the Flashpoint comic storyline which followed The Flash as he navigated an altered DC Universe. Written by Geoff Johns and penciled by Andy Kuber, Flashpoint radically altered the status of the DC Comics universe and led to the launch of the New 52 titles. It is currently unknown how much inspiration the upcoming Ezra Miller film will take from the comic.

Directed by Andy Muschietti from a script written by Birds of Prey scribe Christina Hodson, The Flash stars Ezra Miller, Michael Keaton, Ben Affleck, and Billy Crudup.
