Patty Jenkins has officially signed on to write and direct Wonder Woman 3.
With Wonder Woman 1984 now on HBO Max and in theaters acrosse the globe, Warner Bros. has announced that it is moving forward with a sequel to the DC Comics movie. Gal Gadot is set to reprise her role as Diana Prince, with Patty Jenkins back in the director’s chair.
Despite the fact that most theaters around the world are currently closed due to the ongoing pandemic, Wonder Woman 1984 has brought in $85 million from 42 markets. The Patty Jenkins-directed film was released on the WarnerMedia streaming service HBO Max the same day it hit theaters.
Warner Bros. chief Toby Emmerich had the following to say regarding regarding the threequel:
“As fans around the world continue to embrace Diana Prince, driving the strong opening weekend performance of Wonder Woman 1984, we are excited to be able continue her story with our real life Wonder Women – Gal and Patty – who will return to conclude the long-planned theatrical trilogy”.
Directed by Patty Jenkins from a script she co-wrote with David Callaham and a treatment she developed with Geoff Johns, Wonder Woman 1984 stars Gal Gadot, Chris Pine, Kristen Wiig, Pedro Pascal, Natasha Rothwell, Ravi Patel, Gabriella Wilde, Connie Nielson, and Robin Wright.
